Here in the United States and Michigan where we live, we're constantly advocating to keep and maintain our passenger trains (Amtrak). Both governments need to realize that train service is much needed, although watching the numbers may not always be to your liking, those that want it, ride it should have this conveyance inasmuch as millions of dollars are spent on highways and the airlines.

We shouldn't forget those who REALLY depend on this type of service. The same problem that's affecting many from Sault Ste Marie to Hearst, resorts, people who own private property along the right of way have no transportation so they can get in or out. Building roads in these areas isn't the answer either.

We asking the Canadian Government to subsidize the train! For business interests; touring purposes and individuals who seek to take the train to places where automobiles cannot always go and service!

The train should run regardless of the number of passengers on any given train. Perhaps some better thinking should go into if and when startup begins. Perhaps start with a smaller consist and see if more equipment is needed if necessary, to keep costs down.
